SEC. 3.1-320. MUNICIPAL TRANSPORTATION AGENCY.
§ 3.1-320
This section establishes financial disclosure requirements for employees and board members of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), assigning each designated position to one of three disclosure categories based on their level of financial oversight or contracting authority.
Certain SFMTA jobs must file financial disclosure forms to avoid conflicts of interest. The form you fill out depends on your job title. Most positions (Category 1) must report all income sources and investments. Some jobs (Category 2) must also report investments and income from businesses that provide services like construction or maintenance. The highest level (Category 3) applies only to Bond Oversight Committee members and requires the most detailed disclosures.
- Complex:The section consists primarily of a lengthy table with dozens of job titles and category assignments, making it hard to discern the underlying principles without examining many entries.
- Could be simpler:The definitions of Categories 2 and 3 could be clearer about why certain positions trigger broader disclosure requirements, and the criteria for assigning positions to categories could be made more explicit.
